Flight Instructor (CFI) Training

Our Flight Instructor training is an advanced program designed to equip pilots with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to instruct other pilots in single-engine aircraft operations. Here at Azzurra Aviation Academy, with our experienced instructors, the training becomes a mentorship journey, blending technical rigor with real-world insight you need to earn your flight instructor certificate.

  1. Ground School (50–60 hours):

  Led by the instructor, this phase builds    foundational knowledge in:

  • Principles of learning and effective teaching methods
  • Flight instructor regulations and responsibilities
  • Techniques for conducting flight and ground instruction
  • Evaluation and assessment methods
  • Risk management and safety in flight training

  2. Flight Training: 

  Conducted in a certified training           aircraft. Includes:

  • 15 hours of flight time as PIC in the category and class of aircraft

for which you seek instructor privileges

  • Spin training endorsement            (for airplane category)
  • Endorsements from a CFI for:
  • FOI and FIA knowledge tests
  • Practical test preparation
  • Spin awareness and recovery (airplane only)

          3. Checkride Preparation:

        The instructor conducts mock oral exams and flight evaluations to prepare the student for the FAA Practical Test (checkride), which includes:

        • Oral questioning by a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE)
        • A flight test demonstrating instructional proficiency and safety
