Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT)

Our UPRT training is an advanced program designed to equip pilots with the knowledge and skills, to recognize and recover from airplane upset flight conditions. Here at Azzurra Aviation Academy, with our experienced instructors, the training becomes a journey, blending technical rigor with real-world insight you need to enhance your aviation safety.

  1. Ground School (20–30 hours):

Led by the instructor, this phase builds foundational knowledge in:

  • Aerodynamics of stalls and airplane upsets
  • Human factors related to loss of control in-flight (LOC-I)
  • Prevention strategies and techniques
  • Recovery techniques for various upset scenarios
  • Energy management and control

     2. Flight Training (minimum 5 hours):

    Conducted in a certified training aircraft. Includes:

    • Recognition of pending and full stalls
    • Recovery from various airplane upsets
    • Advanced maneuvering and control techniques
    • Application of proper recovery techniques
    • Unexpected upset scenarios

    3. Scenario-Based Training:

    Simulated real-world upset scenarios to enhance decision-making and practical skills, which includes:

    • Handling unexpected weather conditions
    • Responding to mechanical failures
    • Recovering from spatial disorientation
