Private Pilot License (PPL) Training

Our Private Pilot License training is a structured, immersive program designed to equip aspiring aviators with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to fly single-engine aircraft safely and independently. Here a Azzurra Aviation Academy with our experienced instructors, the training becomes a mentorship journey, blending technical rigor with real-world insight you need to earn your wings.

  1. Ground School (30–40 hours):

Led by the instructor, this phase builds foundational knowledge in:

  • Aerodynamics and aircraft systems
  • FAA regulations and airspace classifications
  • Weather theory and interpretation
  • Navigation (VFR charts, pilotage, dead reckoning)
  • Flight planning and weight & balance
  • Radio communication and phraseology

     2. Flight Training (minimum 40 hours):

    • Dual instruction (20–30 hours):
    • Basic maneuvers (climbs, descents, turns, stalls)
    • Takeoffs, landings, and traffic patterns
    • Emergency procedures
    • Cross-country navigation
    • Night flying (minimum 3 hours)
    • Solo flight (10+ hours):
    • Supervised solo practice
    • Solo cross-country flights (including one over 150 NM with full-stop landings at 3 airports)

        3. Checkride Preparation:

      1. The instructor conducts mock oral exams and flight evaluations to prepare the student for the FAA Practical Test (checkride), which includes:

        • Oral questioning by a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE)
        • A flight test demonstrating proficiency and safety
